Belarus, Turkey to set up working group for SMEs support

MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – The Entrepreneurship Department of the Economy Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and the Small and Medium Industry Development Organization (KOSGEB) of the Republic of Turkey signed a cooperation protocol, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

The document provides for the creation of the Belarus-Turkey working group for SMEs support, exchange of information concerning the national policy regarding entrepreneurship and exchange of data in this area. The protocol is directed to create conditions for the establishment of direct contacts between business communities of Belarus and Turkey.

The document was signed during the visit of a delegation of the Economy Ministry of Belarus to the Republic of Turkey. The visit is held on 13-17 February. The delegation is headed by Alexander Gruzdov, Director of the Entrepreneurship Department of the Economy Ministry.

The Belarusian delegation met with senior officials of the Small and Medium Industry Development Organization (KOSGEB) of the Republic of Turkey to discuss experience exchange in the area of state support for small and medium-sized enterprises, develop joint mechanisms to encourage business in Belarus and Turkey to develop bilateral trade, economy and investment cooperation.

The Belarusian delegation also plans to visit industrial zones, technological clusters and business incubators in Ankara and Istanbul.
