Pavel Utiupin and Frederic Kune discussed the mechanisms for implementing the projects of the EU and Belarus
On September 14, 2017 a financing agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the European Union. The agreement provides the allocation of 6 million euros for research and activities aimed at improving efficiency in the areas of public administration, education and social protection, as well as in the financial sector.
On September 15, 2017 in the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus the meeting of the Deputy Minister of Economy Pavel Utyupin with the head of the Projects and Programs Department of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Belarus Frederic Kune took place. The key topic of the meeting was discussion of mechanisms for implementing projects envisaged for implementation within the framework of the agreement signed on September 14.
Representatives of the European Union also submitted a draft of a new Agreement providing for the Government of the Republic of Belarus to finance 14.5 million euros to support the development of entrepreneurship in the Republic of Belarus. Specific directions of financial assistance of the European Union stipulated by this Agreement will soon be discussed with interested ministries and departments.
The implementation of these agreements is provided by the Multi-year Indicative Program for the Republic of Belarus for 2014-2017, adopted by the European Union in 2014 to provide assistance in the field of social policy, ecologic support and economic development at the local level.
On September 13, 2017 the Ministry of Economy signed an agreement between the EU and the EBRD on allocating funds to the bank to support the development of small and medium-sized businesses as the main driving force for local and regional growth in the Republic of Belarus. The total amount of grant financing from the EU under this Agreement was also € 6 million.
