Dmitry Krutoy held a meeting with the senior officials of EBRD and IFC
On October 12, 2018 The Minister of Economy Dmitry Krutoy during the annual meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group held a meeting with the first vice-president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Jurgen Rigterink and vice-president of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Latin America and the Caribbean, and Europe and Central Asia Georgina Baker.
The topic of conversation with Jurgen Rigterink was the implementation of the EBRD strategy for Belarus for 2016-2019 years. Dmitry Krutoy noted significant progress and expansion of areas of cooperation between Belarus and the Bank, which resulted in the growth of the annual volume of EBRD investments.
For its part, the first Vice-President of the EBRD has expressed the Bank's intention to expand cooperation with Belarus and to increase the volume of transactions.
During the meeting with Georgina Baker Dmitry Krutoy expressed his gratitude to the International Finance Corporation in her person for the advisory support of the Republic of Belarus to improve the business environment of the Government, in particular, on improving administrative procedures and the development of appropriate electronic register. The Minister confirmed the will of Belarus to continue the cooperation with IFC for supporting SME, including EU grant resources according to the Financing Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the EU.
At the same time, Dmitry Krutoy noted that taking into account the capacity of the International Finance Corporation, there are all necessary prerequisites for the increase funding to private companies and expansion of financial support for SME provided by the IFC.
