In 2011 the economy of Belarus became really export-oriented, Economy Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov said speaking at the science-to-practice conference “Problems and Prospects of Development of the Belarusian Economy in the Single Economic Space with Russia and Kazakhstan”

The minister noted that, according to studies and calculations, those tariff restrictions, to which Russia has agreed in the process of accession to the WTO, have been unified with Belarus by 75%. “The most sensitive for Belarus is agricultural engineering and food industry. Therefore, we must properly prepare for competition in these sectors,” said Nikolai Snopkov, noting that competition is a natural process that moves development forward

Ministry of economy of Belarus is finalizing a program document that defines the pattern of state support for business development in the country from start up to implementation of major projects in the field of medium-sized businesses.

Some 117 facilities will be commissioned in Belarus in 2012 in line with the government investment program, BelTA learnt from chief of the forecasting and investment analysis department of the Economy Ministry of Belarus Sergei Trophimovich.
